Getting married in Playa del Carmen is a relatively easy task to accomplish. Legal marriages should be performed by a Mexican justice of the peace.
The following documentation is required by the civil Judge.
- Valid Passport for the couple and 2 witnesses (no other ID is accepted)
- Tourist Visa for the couple and 2 witnesses (all foreigners automatically get a tourist visa at immigration in the airport after landing in Mexico)
- Birth certificate copy
- Blood test (blood type and HIV test) not older than 15 days. For simplicity, this test should be done here in Mexico. We will arrange for a Doctor to visit you at your vacation accomodations to perform the test.
- Completed application form with home address and occupation of the Bride and Groom.
- At least 3 days before the ceremony all fees, blood test results, passports, visas and documentation must be delivered to us in preparation.
